An Open Letter to A Man I Lied to:

A. Dear man I went on a date with via Craigslist and who used to sell pacemakers,
I didn't actually have diabetes. I wasn't actually getting sleepy because of the massive carbohydrate content of the Fat Tire Amber that I was drinking. In fact, I can out drink almost everyone I know (I said, almost) without making out with my female friends and taking my shirt off randomly. I didn't actually feel sick. You were just really boring. And you had a ponytail. So there was no way you were coming upstairs. Sorry. Wait, except not really.

Things I Would Like To Purchase

Or perhaps you can purchase them for me

1) A lovely Dutch bike mostly because I feel it will transform me from a clumsy, awkward looking poorly dressed geek into a cute, care free, girl on bike ala the girls of places like Copenhagen where everyone rides a bike and no one wears a helmet and everyone has fantastic skin and is extremely attractive. Probably because they use full fat yogurt and eat that soft butter that is both margarine AND butter mixed together. Oh, and they have socialized healthcare, free college, and live in a welfare state. That might help.

2) OMG NEW IPODS!! My extremely sad ipod mini is on her last legs and I've been thinking about buying a refurbished 20 or 30g older ipod, but Apple has changed it all for me with those bad ass touch screen iPods, which has all the attractive features of the iphone (sexiness, safari, youtube, and wifi) and minus its less attractive elements (no real chat program, touch screen keyboard, no true headphone jack). But, it is a nice idea to get one of the bigger ipod classics, which are now 80g for 249!! I remember buying the ex a 20g ipod for 300 dollars back in 2005! Insanity. Anyway, it depends on how badly I want to stay hooked into the matrix all the time.

Oh, and I would have loved to have been in the room when they announced the partnership with Starbucks. I doubt I would have been able to stifle my laughter.

the coast is never clear

I logged onto Friendster today for the first time in a while and saw that one of my ex-boyfriends (no, not The Ex-Boyfriend) got married. I knew this would be the case; I remember reading a bulletin from him saying he was moving to Santa Cruz to live with this girl about a year or two ago. I am happy for him.

He was a sweet guy. When I was moving, all of our friends basically flaked on us and I called him up at 9am on a Saturday and he showed up right away to help. He would drive me to work in the mornings if he stayed over and he indulged me in many of my whimsies, including driving across the Bay for donuts in the middle of the night and going to see The Real Cancun. Clearly, I am an excellent girlfriend to have!

Tonight's insomnia is bought to us by this loser, who bought me coffee this afternoon! Thanks!
